On Thursday, Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to President Donald Trump, cited the “Bowling Green Massacre” to defend Trump’s executive order on banning visitors from seven  Muslim-majority countries.

One thing about the Bowling Green Massacre though?

It didn’t happen.

The internet, of course, was swift in its response. There were tweets, Facebook posts of people marking themselves safe at the Bowling Green Massacre and even a website, ostensibly a victims fund, that redirected to the ACLU.

I truly never thought I’d live long enough to see the day when people would forget the #BowlingGreenMasacre. Somehow, this is Obama’s fault.

30K Americans died at the #BowlingGreenMasacre but no mention by lame stream media, because they only report things that happen. Elitists

Ultimately, Conway admitted her mistake, tweeting, “On @hardball @NBCNews @MSNBC I meant to say ‘Bowling Green terrorists.'”

On @hardball @NBCNews @MSNBC I meant to say  “Bowling Green terrorists” as reported here:

Now, however, no one will forget the Bowling Green Massacre.
