RARITAN TWP. – Keith M. Markle, 27, of Stockton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him on Route 31 at 9:02 p.m. on Jan. 25, according to a police report.
Officer Aaron Roth stopped Markle because his vehicle’s exhaust was dragging on the ground and sparking, police said.
He was also given motor-vehicle summonses for loud exhaust, unsafe lane change and reckless driving. The vehicle was towed and Markle was released to a family member after processing pending a court hearing, police said.
William McEnroe, III also arrested Miguel C. Loja, 22, of Princeton Junction, and charged him with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of a plastic container with marijuana residue following a motor-vehicle stop on Church Street Extension, police said.
Loja was initially stopped at 1:09 p.m. on Jan. 26 because his vehicle had tinted windows and an obstructed view, police said.
He also had traffic warrants for his arrest issued out of Hightstown and Hopewell Township municipal courts.
Loja was issued motor-vehicle summonses for improper safety glass, obstructed view and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. The vehicle was towed, police said. He was turned over to Hightstown police on the warrant.
