A fire that burned a large pile of cardboard and rubbish at a Sun Valley recycling yard was knocked down in about half an hour, a Los Angles Fire Department official said.

It took 38 firefighters 32 minutes to douse the blaze at 11166 Pendleton St., according to LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey. The fire was confined to a large pile of cardboard and rubbish.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged Humphrey said, adding the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
