NEW YORK — Derrick Rose will miss his third straight game due to a sprained ankle against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Kristaps Porzingis, however, is available to play and expected to start after sitting out the Knicks’ loss in Washington on Tuesday due to illness. According to Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek, Porzingis was throwing up before the Wizards game.

Rose has not played since injuring his ankle against Charlotte last Friday. The point guard shed the protective boot he had been wearing on his left ankle on Wednesday.

“It feels all right,” Rose said before the Supertotobet game. “No running yet.”

Rose said he hopes to begin running on Friday. The Knicks play the Cavaliers at home on Saturday.
