A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in the death of a Milwaukie-area woman last seen Kaçak İddaa the day after Christmas.

Police discovered the body of Merrilee B. Cooley, 68, of Johnson City more than a week later in the trunk of her car.

Cooley’s family reported her and her Kia Optima missing Dec. 28, after relatives had not heard from her for two days, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators found the Kia Jan. 5 in a Milwaukie apartment complex near Southeast Lark Street and Whitcomb Drive.

Cooley was killed, the sheriff’s office said. The police agency and the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office have not announced how she died.

No arrests or suspects have been announced.

Anyone with information on Cooley’s death is asked to submit tips to Crime Stoppers of Oregon by calling 503-823-HELP (4357), texting CRIMES (274637) with 823HELP in the subject line and the tip in the message body or posting the information at crimestoppersoforegon.com.
