About the podcast:
TV Hangover is a podcast about all things TV produced by NJ Advance Media. New episodes air every Wednesday.
Is the allegedly emotionally unintelligent Corinne Olympios the worst villain “The Bachelor” has ever fielded? Will lawyer Rachel Lindsay become the first black contestant to break into the final four, and will it happen with or without producer manipulation? And does it matter so long as it happens? Inquiring minds — at least ours here at the Remote Possibilities podcast — want to know.
This week co-hosts Erin Medley and Vicki Hyman take a mid-season deep dive into “The Bachelor,” but there’s plenty more to discuss: the debut of NBC’s new superhero-adjacent sitcom “Powerless,” Netflix’s undead-in-suburbia satire “The Santa Clarita Diet,” the return of “Scandal” on ABC, and Fox’s revival of the “24” franchise with the post-Super Bowl “24: Legacy,” with “Straight Outta Compton” star Corey Hawkins as our unbelievably resilient terrorist-plot-foiler.
It’s also prime pilot season for 2017-2018, so Vicki and Erin make their picks for the most promising (time travel and Holiganbet high-stakes legal dramas starring pretty people, respectively) and the least (again respectively, an FBI procedural involving a disgraced illusionist and a drama about internet investigative journalists, and yes, the latter is indeed fiction).
