About 250 people descended on the Thorncliffe Public Library for a march against Islamophobia on Wednesday.

Mothers pushed strollers, fathers held their children’s hands, friends walked in groups. Two Catholic priests from the local church joined Premier Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Councillor Jon Burnside at the march to show solidarity with the community.

Speaking to the group at the start of the rally, Wynne said the attack at the Quebec mosque was an attack on “all of us.”

People held signs that read, “One community, one country, one family”; “Hate is not a Canadian value;” “All refugees are welcome; no to Islamophobia.”
