The German group Volkswagen obtained an attributable net profit of 3,266 million euros in the first three months of the year, which is 22.4% less than the profits of 4,209 million euros it achieved in the first quarter of 2023, according to the accounts published this Tuesday by the company.
The consortium’s income between January and March stood at 75,461 million euros, which represents a decrease of 1% in the year-on-year comparison, while global deliveries of vehicles of all its brands reached 2.1 million units, 3.1% more.
The operating profit of the Volkswagen group in the first three months of the year stood at 4,588 million euros, 20.2% less than that registered in the first quarter of the previous year, while the profit after taxes decreased by 21. 6%, up to 3,710 million euros.
The group has confirmed its objectives for 2024, which include increasing turnover by up to 5% compared to 2023 and achieving an operating margin of between 7% and 7.5% at the end of the year. This indicator stood at 6.5% in the first quarter of the year.
The company also plans to launch 30 new models of all brands throughout this year.
