Madrid, June 8, 2023.- FCC Environmental Services, the US subsidiary of FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente, launched on June 1 the solid urban waste collection service for the city of Palm Coast (Florida) that was awarded in July 2022. The contract represents a potential portfolio of 175 million dollars (about 163.3 million euros) for a term of up to ten years. Located in Flagler County and with more than 90,000 inhabitants, Palm Coast is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing cities in Florida. To carry out this contract, which includes the collection of the remaining fraction, recyclables and pruning and garden waste, the company has a fleet of 35 trucks, 30 of them powered by compressed natural gas, 72 people on staff and an investment of 15 million dollars (around 14 million euros). With the start of this new contract, FCC Environmental Services provides service to close to two million inhabitants in the state of Florida alone, increasing its already important presence in said state. In the last twelve months alone, FCC has signed contracts worth 2,100 million dollars (1,966 million euros) in the United States, where it serves more than 11 million inhabitants. This contract represents another milestone for the development and consolidation of the company’s business in Florida and reinforces its important position as one of the leading waste management and urban services companies in the state and country.
