The First Vice President of the Government and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, stressed this Wednesday that Latin America will be one of the priorities of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU, which will take place from the month of July.

This was stated in a message on the social network Twitter after meeting in Washington with the Minister of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico, Rogelio Ramírez, with whom he stressed the importance of promoting cooperation between the two countries in the multilateral framework.

“Productive meeting with Minister Rogelio Ramírez (…) Latin America will be a priority for the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of the year,” the first vice president stressed in her tweet.

Previously, the Government has already advanced that Spain will be during its presidency of the Council of the European Union “the great promoter of Latin American interests in the EU” and will take the opportunity to convene a summit between the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac ) “which will be an unmitigated success”.
