MADRID, 4 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The National Federation of Traditional Fishmongers (Fedepesca) and Uber Eats have partnered for home delivery of fish and other fresh products through the delivery platform in Spain, according to a statement.
Specifically, this agreement is part of the digitalization project for traditional fishmongers led by Fedepesca, which represents more than 7,000 associates in Spain, and is produced thanks to the technology of Hermeneus World, a company specialized in the digital transformation of small businesses.
The project, called La Pescadería Artesanal, is an exclusive ‘marketplace’ for traditional fishmongers, which in its first phase is being tested in various fishmongers in Madrid. Fedepesca is confident that over the next few months, the other fishmongers associated with the employer’s association will also join this platform, being able to scale the project to other Spanish cities.
The general director of Fedepesca, María Luisa Álvarez, has welcomed this agreement. “The alliance with Uber Eats is the first step in our multi-channel strategy. In addition, Uber Eats provides us with a last-mile delivery solution that respects our sustainability model and that positions us in channels where there is hardly any representation of traditional businesses, therefore, without a doubt, it is an unprecedented historical milestone for our traditional fishmongers”, he underlined.
For his part, the marketing director of Uber Eats in Spain and Portugal, Ricardo Pabón, stressed that this agreement with Fedepesca is a “key step” for the platform in its “commitment to the purchase of fresh and local products from local merchants in Spain”.
