MADRID, 24 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Talgo and the state train company of Egypt (ENR) have signed an agreement of intent to study the possible manufacture of a fleet of up to 100 trains and the construction in the Arab country of a factory for its execution, as confirmed this Friday by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
However, Talgo has stressed that this operation is currently “under study and negotiation”, so it does not imply “any commitment or contractual implication for the parties”.
The Spanish company has explained that this agreement aims to consolidate the long-term relationship with ENR by studying possible future collaborations “and beyond the projects currently underway”.
In this sense, Talgo recalls that it is currently executing a project for ENR consisting of the manufacture and maintenance of six trains.
Both companies signed a second contract for the manufacture of night trains in August 2022, the entry into force of which is currently pending prior conditions linked to the financing of the project.
