US President Joe Biden sent his condolences to Seoul on Saturday and stressed that the United States stood “with” South Korea after the deadly stampede that left 150 people dead on Halloween night.

“We mourn with the people of the Republic of Korea and send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those who have been injured,” Biden said in a statement, adding that the United States “stands with the Republic of Korea during this tragic time”.
