A motorcyclist in his sixties was seriously injured Friday evening, after losing control of his vehicle on Highway 10 near Chambly, in Montérégie.
The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. eastbound on the highway at kilometer 24, said Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
If a collision with a pick-up while overtaking was envisaged at the start of the evening, the motorcyclist would have finally lost control of his vehicle on his own.
Seriously injured, the victim was taken to a hospital, but there was no longer fear for his life at the end of the evening. Investigators and a reconstructionist went to the scene to try to shed light on the causes and circumstances of the event.
The road was fully reopened around 9:30 p.m.
