How to find a beach where the water quality is correct for swimming? How can you be sure?
By checking with the beach of your choice if analyzes have been done or by consulting the list of public beaches that participate in the Quebec government program Environnement Plage.
Analyses
Samples are taken and then analyzed to check their bacteriological quality, mainly the concentration of faecal coliforms. The results appear on the program’s website.
In many cases, quality ratings may change from sample to sample. Sometimes a beach is given a D rating if Canada geese, ducks or gulls have left their droppings on the shore. Controlling the presence of these birds is often the basis of the quality of water for swimming.
Results
Multiple ranges tend to perform well. Here are a few.
To find you there
For more information on the beach of your choice, simply do a search with Google.
Regarding the beaches of the Sépaq network, it is better to buy your access rights and a parking space online. This avoids unnecessary travel if the beach has reached its maximum capacity.
