At the dawn of the decisive game of the Remparts de Québec against the “Cats”, in the semi-finals of the playoffs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ), the mayor of the Old Capital had challenged his counterpart of Shawinigan, Michel Angers. The Mayor of the City of the losing organization had to put on the jersey of the other team.

In the end, the Cataractes not only defeated the Remparts, but also won the President’s Cup in the final against the Charlottetown Islanders. Mr. Marchand then respected his commitment by wearing the yellow vest of the Cataractes.

“Good job guys ! I send the vest to the mayor of Charlottetown?”, he replied on Twitter to a publication of the champions of the QMJHL.

Remember that the Mauricie team’s season is not over, as it will participate in the Memorial Cup from June 20.
