Radio columnist Pierre Rinfret has died, the 91.9 Sports station announced on Twitter on Friday.

He succumbed to cancer at the age of 72.

In addition to having collaborated with 91.9 Sports over the past seven years, Pierre Rinfret has notably worked for TVA Sports. He participated in the description of hockey matches for TVA in the 1980s and, many years later, on the radio. He was also a panelist for the now defunct “110%” show on TQS.

“My friend Pierre Rinfret is no more. He left us early this morning. He will have had fun doing what he loved until the end. He left serene and at peace. Condolences to the people who loved to listen to him, to his daughter Camille, his family and his friends. Rest my friend,” reacted host Jean-Charles Lajoie on Twitter.
