That’s according to an autopsy report released Monday by the Broward County Coroner’s Office.

The 24-year-old athlete’s blood alcohol level was 0.20 when he was walking along Highway 595 to get gas after his vehicle broke down. Ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, was also found in his bloodstream.

A few hours after these revelations of the autopsy report, the widow of Haskins published a press release asking that the privacy of her late husband be respected.

“He was a loving and devoted husband, son and brother. He wanted to be a father and eventually a grandfather. He was a humanitarian who loved children and animals”, wrote Kalabrya Haskins in particular, before recalling the exploits of the quarter on the ground.

“We respectfully ask for confidentiality and patience, that the public refrain from judgment while law enforcement authorities continue to investigate and carry out their important work.”

Haskins was claimed 15th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team. He played 16 games in two seasons with it. After missing several team meetings and appearing without a face covering in public places during the COVID-19 pandemic, Haskins was released by Washington at the end of 2020. He had started six meetings this season, completing five touchdown passes and being the victim of seven interceptions. He was the Steelers’ third quarterback in 2021 and did not play a game.
