In Lauffen am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg a fire attack on a mosque building has apparently been perpetrated. The incendiary sets, so-called Molotov cocktails, only caused damage to property, but police, according to ir own claims, determined because of attempted murder because imam was in building for Tatzeit. Evidence of perpetrators was not initially available to police.

One or more unknowns had thrown incendiary into an outbuilding of mosque, in which, according to police, re are communal and training rooms, but also living quarters of imam. In building re was considerable soot damage, blazing fire could be extinguished. The damage is estimated at about 5,000 euros. No one was injured.
According to Federal Ministry, re were nearly 1,000 attacks on Muslims and Muslim institutions last year. 33 people were injured.
