At beginning of February, eight teachers of school wrote a letter to all parents, two and a half closely printed pages. There is talk of “permanent disturbances and brawls”, of “not abiding by known rules of conduct” and “not appearing in classroom”. And of “extreme physical violence”, in many children “an already developed feeling cold towards classmates can be seen”. The teachers have announced countermeasures in letter: In future, “pupil concerned will be removed immediately from classroom or break”, children should get school exclusion of up to five days, police will be alerted.
The parents should sign that y have read letter and give signed note to child. “We ask you to take this letter very seriously, since situation at school is very serious at moment”, teachers have formulated. It is a primary school in which approximately 160 children learn from first to fourth grade. But Aue-Fallstein suddenly sounds like Rütli school, a major school in Berlin-Neukölln, which made headlines nationwide because its college 2006 threatened to give up – violence at school was not to be curbed.
