The Handelsblatt editor and chairman of management board Gabor Steingart leaves publishing group Handelsblatt after seven years. Publishers Dieter von Holtzbrinck and Steingart have agreed to end “professional partnership”, DvH Medien GmbH shared. The previous day, Spiegel had first reported online about separation.

In its communication “differences in fundamental corporate law issues” and “one – not in general, but in individual cases – DvH Medien GmbH called for different assessments of journalistic standards” as reasons for separation. Both sides wanted to maintain “friendly contact” and mutually a different form of cooperation in future.
Holtzbrinck spoke Steingart “highest respect and greatest gratitude”, he had developed and renewed Handelsblatt and entire group “in a great way.”
Holtzbrinck had also made editor-in-chief Steingart 2013 shareholder of Handelsblatt group. Many readers, he was known about his e-mail newsletter morning briefing.
