A man was shot and killed and another man wounded Sunday afternoon in an attack in the the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
A 45-year-old man was shot and critically wounded just before 1:45 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of East 75th Street, according to a police media notification. The man suffered gunshot wounds to the face and neck and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died. A 54-year-old man who also was wounded in the same attack was later found and taken to Northwestern for treatment of a gunshot wound to the right thigh, according to police, who initially only had information on the man killed. The second man’s condition was stabilized at the hospital, police said.
The men were outside walking when someone came up to him and fired shots, hitting them, police said. No one was in custody.
