Police were questioning a suspect after a man was found stabbed to death near Metra tracks Wednesday afternoon in the Fulton River District, authorities said.
Officers found a 24-year-old man who was stabbed and unresponsive in the 400 block of North Clinton Street about 3:20 p.m., police said. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. One person was being questioned.
The man had gotten into a fight with someone who hasn’t been identified and the attacker pulled out a "sharp object" and stabbed the man in the upper left torso, police said in a media notification.
About 4:40 p.m., police asked Metra not to use one of three train tracks in that area, according to Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.
The incident was expected to cause “only minor’’ delays to some outbound trains from Union Station on the Milwaukee West and Milwaukee North Lines, Gillis said.
