A two-vehicle, rear-end crash Thursday night in Warren County sent three people to area hospitals for treatment, New Jersey State Police said.

It occurred about 8 p.m. at a temporary traffic signal set up this week on Route 46 East in White Township, a trooper said. The road is down to one lane for six months in that area, as part of a $3.7 million road resurfacing and slope stabilization project.

All three of the motorists who were injured were in a Chrysler Aspen stopped at the light, when the SUV was struck from behind by a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, police said. The pickup driver was not taken for treatment.

One of those injured was flown by Atlantic Air One, and the other two were taken by ambulance, police said.

All adults, the three were conscious as they were taken for treatment, according to police.

No charges were immediately filed, as police continued to investigate the crash.

Police did not immediately have the names of those involved to release.

Route 46 was closed about 10 minutes following the crash, police said.

Also responding were the Belvidere Rescue Squad, Belvidere Fire Department and paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center.
