After lengthy negotiations, the workers at the early childhood centers (CPE) in Montreal and Laval have reached an agreement in principle.

The agreement in principle reached on April 28 between the Union of Workers of the Early Childhood Centers of Montreal and Laval (STCPEML) and the National Employers’ Association of Early Childhood Centers (APNCPE) was adopted at majority (96%) on Thursday.

Negotiations between the two parties were arduous, so much so that the Ministries of Family and Labor had to intervene so that the APNCPE accepted union demands, namely the integration of the national agreement and the status quo of the collective agreement. currently in force.

Thus, the educators of Montreal and Laval will be able to maintain “their rest period already in place in their workplace, participation in the sound application of pedagogy and in decisions affecting the organization of daily life in their group of children and work-family balance by maintaining stable hours.
