SEVILLA, 8 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the National Federation of Self-Employed Workers Associations (ATA) and vice president of the CEOE, Lorenzo Amor, highlighted on Monday the “good agreement for the country” reached between unions and employers to raise the wages of workers.
Specifically, the parties are considering recommending salary increases of 4% this year, to then increase them by 3% in 2024 and 2025, with a salary guarantee clause that would be activated based on the evolution of inflation and that could imply an increase additional up to 1%.
Speaking to Europa Press, Lorenzo Amor, before entering an event organized by the Seville Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that this “responsible” agreement will generate “stability” and “social peace” among the self-employed, companies and Workers.
“It is an agreement that, while the Government was insulting, belittling and demonizing the business fabric, we were negotiating,” Amor said, later denying that the businessmen were “blocking the wage agreement.”
“It was false that we were not at the negotiating table, it was absolutely false that we businessmen did not want to raise wages,” insisted Amor, who has maintained that the employers continued to negotiate and, in the end, this agreement was reached.
“It is an agreement that will allow workers to have a salary increase in the coming years and that will allow the company to have stability and have social space,” he stressed, since he has detailed that the salaries of workers in the private sector are going to “rise more than those of the public sector, which demonstrates the responsibility of the social agents”.
Finally, he stressed that businessmen are “responsible” and act “with a sense of State and country”, although he has reproached that, “sometimes, they try to teach us lessons”.
