Housed in a building almost a century old, the Plaza Athenee Nobu
In Bangkok, the Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa Bangkok will offer ultra-luxury hospitality and a unique world-class dining experience, with AWC and Nobu developing the East meets West concept, integrated into the River Journey concept. Registered as a historic site, the EAC building was founded in 1884 by Captain Hans Niels Andersen, a Danish seaman and businessman who founded the East Asiatic Company. The hotel will further elevate luxury travel in Thailand by connecting with other AWC projects along the Chao Phraya River, creating a unique riverfront experience for both Thais and international visitors.
AWC and Nobu will recreate iconic riverfront heritage buildings and offer a unique hospitality experience, including other select dining offerings. By preserving the original building structures and inherent art, we aim to instill pride in this historic area, thereby creating long-term sustainable value for the surrounding communities. The Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa Bangkok will also include a special Nobu Cruise for private events tailored to guests.

Today’s announcement follows an exclusive agreement that AWC signed with Nobu Hospitality in July 2022 to open Thailand’s first Nobu restaurant in 2023 on the top floor of The Empire, the iconic mixed-use office and lifestyle complex of AWC located in the bustling central business district of Bangkok.
