LIVNO, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Feb. 3, 2023/PRNewswire/ — With the completion of the first 136-meter bladed wind turbine that will be part of the Ivovik Wind Farm project in Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina, XCC2000, the largest telescopic jib wind crane exported from China, completed its first lifting order in Europe, breaking the lifting record of comparable models in the industry. XCC2000 is a product of XCMG Hoisting Machinery, which offers the most complete product varieties and series all over the world.

As part of the construction of the wind power project, 20 Chinese-made wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 84 MW, will be erected using XCC2000. It is the largest renewable energy generation project in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been designated a national key program by the local government. It is also the largest energy project that a Chinese company has invested in and built in the region and serves as a reference project for the Belt and Road initiative in Europe. The project has been included in the list of achievements of the 2021 China-Central and Eastern Europe Leaders’ Summit.

The construction site of the Ivovik Wind Power Project is located just over 1,500 meters above sea level, with most of the construction taking place in the dead of Bosnian winter, a period characterized by strong winds and unpredictable weather. , which places a great test for the entire lifting operation and strict requirements regarding the lifting capacity, operational mobility and transport accessibility of the lifting equipment. As the key equipment in the construction of the Ivovik wind power project, XCC2000 stood out for its excellent lifting and transfer performance.

High lifting capacity

With a maximum main boom length of 81.4 meters and a maximum wind boom length of 80 meters, the XCC2000 is one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced 1,000-tonne super cranes created by XCMG. It can lift loads up to 150 meters.

Exceptional ability to move easily throughout the site

The XCC2000’s 4.5m narrow track base plate can carry a large boom capable of moving heavy loads to various locations on the site, making it a more efficient option for installing large wind turbines, while also reduces the cost of assembly of the wind turbine and improves the efficiency of the construction phase of the project.

To ensure the project was completed on time, XCMG assembled a professional service team to develop a science-based and systematic hoisting operation plan, with XCC2000 as the main crane and two XCA130_E all-terrain cranes as auxiliary cranes. XCMG crews not only withstood the test of wind, frost, snow, rain, sub-zero temperatures and other harsh weather conditions during the entire lifting operation, but also completed the construction work within the allotted time, ensuring that the turbine was installed efficiently and reliably.

“The extremely high reliability and micro-motion of XCMG’s hoisting equipment ensured the fast and accurate installation of the wind turbine in difficult and changeable weather conditions,” said Yang Jianjun, deputy general manager of Youtone, the project contractor. “The service team also provided manpower and equipment support for the project, which is why we chose XCMG.”
