– Field Medical and CardioNXT collaborate to deliver a novel integration of pulsed-field focal ablation and 3D mapping and navigation for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias

CARDIFF-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. and BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 13, 2022/PRNewswire/ — Field Medical, Inc. and CardioNXT, Inc. today announced a strategic collaboration to deliver the first ablation therapy for Pulsed Focal Field (PFA) in its class, purpose-built and seamlessly integrated with 3D mapping and navigation.

Both teams will draw on decades of experience pioneering novel PFA solutions and navigating products in various medical therapy applications.

“AFP has attracted a lot of interest in the treatment of atrial fibrillation due to the improved safety profile and procedural workflow. However, most of the current first-generation AFP technologies are reuses from other applications and have significant limitations outside of a subset of atrial fibrillation procedures,” explained Dr. Steven Mickelsen, CEO of Field Medical. This collaboration brings together second-generation focal PFA and AI-based cardiac mapping, a combination that will revolutionize catheter ablation across the full spectrum of treatable arrhythmias.”

This new collaboration will serve to accelerate the development of new integrated solutions aimed at improving safety and efficacy, while minimizing the need to use X-rays for cardiac catheter ablation, a market that has grown to 6 billion. dollars annually worldwide. Precision navigation is critical for cardiac rhythm management, especially outside the atria, where magnetic localization can dramatically improve positioning during treatment of life-threatening ventricular tachycardias.

“We are excited to collaborate with Field Medical to build a purpose-built system from the ground up that incorporates PFA, contact force sensing, electromagnetic localization, and AI-enabled mapping capabilities,” said Jerome Edwards, CEO of CardioNXT. “We believe this will create a fully integrated total solution, the first of its kind, for identifying the sources of cardiac arrhythmias and delivering therapy to those targets more effectively than ever before.”
