-Cambridge University Hospitals pioneer NHS collaboration with uPerform to optimize EPR education

Cambridge University Hospitals selects uPerform to expand its Epic education program and further support competition.

ELKRIDGE, Md., Jan. 5, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) based in Cambridge, England, is launching an innovative learning platform for its electronic patient record (EPR) system, Epic®. You have selected uPerform to support your caregiver onboarding and ongoing training experience, ensuring your hospital staff (Epic users) have the resources they need to use the system to its full potential.

CUH is a family of hospitals, including Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie, providing expert care to more than 4.5 million people locally, regionally and nationally as part of England’s National Health Service (NHS). CUH was the first NHS trust to implement Epic in the UK and the first NHS trust to achieve HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7. With over 10,500 employees, CUH was looking for innovative ways to scale its Epic education program to further support the uptake of new employees, optimization of learning and skills for existing staff and new training for Epic updates. CUH selected uPerform to help caregivers become more proficient in using Epic by providing them with personalized, in-context Epic training materials at the time of need.

uPerform will also work to support CUH’s Epic Thrive program, further empowering its dedicated physicians, nurses and healthcare support staff with ongoing and efficiency training.

CUH is the first NHS trust to join more than three dozen leading health systems already using uPerform in the US, Netherlands and Finland. “It is a true privilege to have earned the trust of CUH to strengthen its Epic educational program, and we look forward to many productive years of collaboration ahead,” said Harm Mescher, Senior Vice President of Sales EMEA/APJ at uPerform. “This project marks our initial step in introducing the established successes and benefits of uPerform to NHS trusts across the UK.”

uPerform enables healthcare providers to take their digital maturity to the next level by providing clinicians with quick and simple access to high-quality EPR educational materials within the workflow, increasing proficiency and user satisfaction and , at the same time, reduces exhaustion. Role-based in-app learning at the point of care improves onboarding, reduces time spent on the EPR system by reinforcing training, and decreases time spent training so clinicians can spend more time on what matters most: their patients.
