– The Linux Europe Foundation creates an advisory board to accelerate the impact of pan-European open collaboration
With a diverse representation of European leaders from industry, technology and non-profit organisations, the advisory board will influence the direction of the Linux Europe Foundation and its community of more than 100 members.
BRUSSELS, May 4, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The Linux Foundation Europe is pleased to announce the members of the Linux Foundation Europe Advisory Board (LFEAB), which includes representatives from a cross-section of 20 leading European organizations within the EU. , the UK and beyond. Board members represent a range of organizations by size and industry, each with a shared vision for open source collaboration. The advisory board will play an important role in managing the growing Linux Europe Foundation community, which now encompasses 100 member organizations from across the European region.

The broad representation of Linux Foundation Europe participants across the EU, UK and US is crucial, helping further FL Europe’s mission of enabling regional collaboration on shared priorities, without encouraging increased fragmentation and technological nationalism. In addition, to ensure strong community representation, Linux Europe Foundation projects may appoint a representative as an observer to the advisory board.

The advisory board, which held its inaugural meeting in April during Kubecon CloudNativeCon Europe 2023, will have a broad set of responsibilities, including providing guidance for FL Europe to engage with the public sector in relation to project engagement, as well as responding to critical legislation affecting the technology ecosystem – a current example is the Cyber Resilience Law (CRA), the AI Law, Digital Services and the Digital Markets Law.
