The Franz Schubert Filharmonia Orchestra recorded numerous Spanish and Chinese musical pieces at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The artists from the China Oriental Performing Group, dressed in typical flamenco costumes, have danced in the purest Spanish style since Beijing. Madrid, March 30, 2023.- On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain, CMG, a holding company that groups China’s public television stations, has sponsored the broadcast of a classical music concert on its CGTN channel at 9:00 p.m. (Beijing time) and simultaneously on another of its channels, CMG Mobile. More than 100 Chinese and Spanish musicians and artists participated in this concert in exceptional music and dance performances from both countries whose objective is to build a bridge of friendship and understanding between the people of both nations. This is the third consecutive year that CMG celebrates an event of these characteristics. On this occasion, the Franz Schubert Filharmonia Orchestra (Barcelona) participated on the Spanish side and, on the Chinese side, the artists of the China Oriental Performing Group, in a joint recording made in Barcelona and Beijing. The Spanish part was recorded at the Palau de la Música Catalana, a modernist architectural temple, which has been imbued with Chinese music. The Franz Schubert Filharmonia orchestra has played four pieces of Chinese classical music: Symphonic Overture No. 1, Fiery Flying Skirt, Dance of the Yao and Swan Goose. Yang Tianwa, a renowned Chinese violinist living in Europe, performed Carmen Fantasy, with a very Spanish flavor . The Spanish guitarist Rafael Aguirre played, for his part, Romance de Amor, Memorias de la Alhambra and Liu Yang River. The artists from the China Oriental Performing Group, dressed in typical flamenco costumes, have danced in the purest Spanish style. In Jasmine, the dancers fused Chinese dance with impressive flower props to embody the friendship between China and Spain. Rafael Dezcallar, Spanish ambassador to China, thanked CMG for organizing the concert, stressing that “music and culture they are the bridges that connect people from different countries.
