A Port Authority police officer is under investigation after making a social media comment about a video that shows two anti-Donald Trump protesters being punched last month in Washington, D.C.
Brian Faustina shared a video that shows a man striking two people on street corner. Faustina wrote “Grow up bitches and get a job,” ProPublica reported.
Two retired Port Authority police officers then wrote, “This needs to happen more often!” and “Thats (sic) what the (sic) all need, a little ass kicking.”
A Port Authority police spokesman confirmed to NJ Advance Media on Friday that the agency’s Inspector General’s office is investigating. He called it an ongoing investigation.
The man who threw the punch got angry after a group of masked anti-Trump protesters with their arms locked together prevented him from crossing a street. A brief verbal altercation followed.
The man didn’t appear to be arrested during the six-minute video.
Faustina was the subject of two “minor” investigations by Port Authority police dating to 2010, NYPost.com reported.
The Bergen County resident, who was hired in February 1995, was paid $143,778 in 2016, according to records.
