Easton officials unveiled the city’s second finance director in as many years on Monday.

Mark Lysynecky started Monday in the job vacated by Cassandra Williams.

The 14-year Palmer Township resident most recently worked as controller and chief financial officer at Garden State Growers in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the team here,” Lysynecky said at a news conference Monday.

Williams left her post as finance director in Lower Macungie Township in September 2015 to take the $97,000-a-year job in Easton. Then she left Easton in October 2016. Her plans at that time were unclear.

City Administrator Luis Campos said at the press conference he wasn’t sure about Lysynecky’s annual salary figure but said he would provide it later Monday.

Campos said the search for a new finance director started in November. The city interviewed about 10 finalists.

“Mark came out on top,” Campos said.

Campos said the greenhouse company where Lysynecky most recently worked has a budget slightly larger than the city’s. He said Lysynecky chipped in with some human resources duties while at Garden State Growers.

Easton finance director is out after barely a year

Lysynecky has an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. His three children attend Easton Area School District schools.

Former finance director Chris Heagele served before Williams. He left to take a similar position with the North Warren Regional School District in August 2015. He started there earning $118,000 a year.
