The “Cash me outside” girl became an online sensation after a video of her from an episode of “Dr. Phil” went viral, and now Danielle Bregoli, 13, is coming back on the show Friday for a follow-up episode.
Bregoli appeared on the show hosted by Dr. Phil McGraw in September last year, but the clip of her rowdy attitude and the now famous phrase “Cash me outside how bow dah” went viral in January. It gave rise to innumerable memes, bitmojis and music videos , taking over the internet for days.
The teenager and her mother Barbara Ann are now appearing on the show again to “discuss her four-and-a-half months at a top-level treatment facility,” the show said on its website, along with a promotional video for the episode where Bregoli tells Dr. Phil that “you were nothing before I came on this show.”
Bregoli’s appearance comes soon after an internet rumor claiming that she had committed suicide was reported by the fake news site Fly Height. The report read: “After months of bullying from social media and peers at school, Danielle Ann was found dead in her room on January 23…a fight with a fellow student leaked online of Danielle being drug out of a car and repeatedly struck in the head…Just days after, Danielle was found unresponsive by her mother in her bedroom. She was then rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead late Monday evening.”
However, she soon featured in a live stream where she counted dollar bills for an hour.
On Feb. 6, the mother and daughter were spotted aboard a Spirit Airlines plane at Los Angeles International Airport in the midst of a heated argument on their way back from shooting the follow-up Dr. Phil episode, bringing her to the spotlight yet again.
However, The Palm Beach Post reported that the thug-like behavior that is now associated with Bregoli is very different from the girl that the publication interviewed in 2009. It says Bregoli “was once a sweet little girl who helped her mother through chemotherapy for breast cancer.”
The change may seem drastic but Bregoli can be seen on camera again at the new episode, with the possibility of a new dialogue that could turn into a meme-generator.
