This is a real thing.
A Cheeto that resembles the shape of Harambe, the famous-turned-cult gorilla who was killed last year at the Cincinnati Zoo, sold on eBay overnight for $99,900.
Repeat: $99,900. For. A. Single. Cheeto.
The internet, promptly, reacted as expected.
The seller said he found the oddly-shaped snack in a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Bidding began at $11.99 on Jan. 28 and racked up 132 offers by the time it closed at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. The listing featured a picture of a Cheeto side-by-side with a gorilla climbing a tree.
The seller, located in Burbank, Calif., posted that the shipping of the cheeto is free.
Well, thank goodness for that. $5 shipping for a nearly $100,000-dollar Cheeto? No way.
