Reality-star-turned-jewelry-designer Kristin Cavallari said she and her husband, former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, are set to move to Nashville "for a very long time, if not forever" on Tuesday.
"I have to say I’m kind of sad," Cavallari told People magazine Thursday. "My mom is in Chicago. I’ve made a lot of really good friends, so I definitely am sad."
Cavallari, who spent part of her childhood in Barrington, but told a magazine two years ago that Chicago’s "just not home," said the couple’s plan has always been for home base to be Nashville, where Cutler attended Vanderbilt University and they wed in 2013. They have had a house in the area for years.
"We think it’s a great place to raise a family. I love it. You know you still get all four seasons, but it’s much milder than other parts of the country and it’s just fun. The people are cool. There’s really good food. There’s always something fun to do. There’s not really a whole lot to not like about Nashville," she said.
Cutler has not announced his next move since the Bears released him last month, but Cavallari said "exciting things are happening for him. He hasn’t said what he’s going to do next year, and I’ll let him say that when it’s time to, but he’s good. He’s good."
Cutler, who turns 34 years old Saturday, and Cavallari, 30, are parents to sons Camden Jack, 4; and Jaxon Wyatt, 2; and daughter Saylor James, 17 months.
Cavallari said the family will "get back" to Chicago "for sure."
"It’s an hour flight. I know I’ll go back. I’ll see my mom. I’ll see my girlfriends," she said.
