Jess McLeod will be the recipient of the 2016-17 Michael Maggio Fellowship for Chicago-based directors, Goodman Theatre announced Tuesday.

The fellowship includes assisting on a Goodman production and working with the Goodman’s artistic team.

McLeod’s recent projects include Lyric Unlimited’s Chicago Voices program and "How We Got On" at Haven Theatre. Upcoming projects include a condensed version of the late PJ Paparelli and Joshua Jaeger’s "The Project(s)" that will tour Chicago Public Schools. McLeod is also a teaching artist at Storycatchers Theatre and program manager for the annual "Louder Than a Bomb" youth poetry festival. 

Recent fellows include Vanessa Stalling (2015-16), Marti Lyons (2014-15) and Erica Weiss (2013-14).
