In seemingly a direct response to the general complaints from music fans about the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival line-up, the Observatory (3503 S. Harbor Blvd.) in Santa Ana announced the When We Were Young fest featuring a mighty roster of performers.

The two-day event will take place April 8 and 9, just a week before Coachella kicks off in Indio, on the Observatory grounds and its top-tier acts include Morrissey, Descendents, AFI, Cage the Elephant, Taking Back Sunday, Fidlar, Alkaline Trio, Dr. Dog, Streelight Manifesto and Silversun Pickups.

Using its parking lot, main performance room and its smaller Constellation Room, the festival will include sets by Foxygen, Joyce Manor, Saves the Day, the Get Up Kids, Beach Fossils, Pinback, Tijuana Panthers, Together Pangea, Sheer Mag, Choking Victim, Mount Eerie, the Frights, Balance and Composure, Plague Vendor, the Buttertones, Moving Units, Set Your Goals, Sunflower Bean, Cat Signs, Sadgirl, No Parents, the Regrets

Tickets are $175 general admission and $275 VIP and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at WhenWeWereYoung.net.
