Hopefully, the third time will be the charm for fans of Morrissey.

The British rock icon, formerly front man of the Smiths, has announced a new concert date at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts: April 12.

Tickets, $49.50-$69.50, go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at the Tobin Center box office, online at tobi.tobincenter.org and by phone at 210-223-8624.

Two concert dates for Morrissey were announced and then cancelled in 2016: Nov. 17 at the Tobin Center, because of the illness of a band member, and Dec. 17 at the Majestic Theatre, attributed in a statement from Morrissey to management issues.

That second cancellation, according to the statement, had left the Morrissey Band in a state of “unrecoverable woe.”
