Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Netflix has released a survey claiming that 46 per cent of couples have cheated on each other.

No, not that kind of cheating. The service says it’s binge-watching that’s the culprit, with survey respondents admitting to skipping ahead of their partners on TV shows.

The 30,267 responses from 29 countries, including Canada and the U.S., revealed that the biggest “cheaters” were in Brazil and Mexico (57 and 58 per cent) and the most loyal bingers in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland (where 73, 65 and 60 per cent of respondents said they had never cheated).

Thirty-seven per cent of Canadian couples admitted to streaming behind each other’s backs.

The top 10 temptations in Canada, the survey said, were The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Orange Is the New Black, Grey’s Anatomy, Bates Motel, Stranger Things, Gilmore Girls, House of Cards, Narcos and The 100.
