With only 28 days this month, there’s a lot to fit into the calendar. 

To help, we picked out the five best February food events in the city. Here’s what you should be doing:

“Not My President’s Day” Fundraiser Benefitting Planned Parenthood

On President’s Day, a dozen Portland chefs and bartenders will join forces for a “not my President’s Day” fundraiser in support of Planned Parenthood. The indoor block party will take over the first floor of the Water Avenue Commerce Center with dishes from 10 chefs, including Maya Lovelace (Mae), Tommy Habetz (Pizza Jerk), Sam Smith (Tusk), Greg & Gabi Denton (Ox, SuperBite), Doug Adams (Bullard), Earl Ninsom (Langbaan) and more. Drinks from Angel Teta (Ataula) and Jesse Card (Bit House Saloon) will be available for purchase. All proceeds will be donated to Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette. 

Time: Feb. 20, 8:30 – 11:30 p.m.
Details: $40 donation for ticket, includes an event passport to taste every chef’s food. Tickets can be purchase here. Cocktails, beer and wine will be available for purchase, 1028 S.E. Water Ave.

Pizza/Wine/Coffee fundraiser for the ACLU

On Feb. 5, Sellwood’s Either/Or is teaming up with Sprudge.com for a fundraiser in support of ACLU Nationwide, as part of a national cafe fundraiser. The coffee shop will be selling pizza by the slice from Red Sauce Pizza, Pizza Jerk, Handsome Pizza, Sizzle Pie and Scottie’s Pizza Parlor, as well as wines by the glass from more than half a dozen local wineries. All proceeds will be donated. Participating cafes — more than half a dozen in Portland will join dozens across the country — will also be raising funds for the ACLU from Feb. 3-5.

The Oregonian/OregonLive’s Third Annual Dumpling Week

To celebrate The Oregonian/OregonLive’s third annual dough-wrapped week, we’ve organized our biggest line-up yet, with 20 restaurants creating dumpling specials for the week. Dumpling Week 2017 will run from Feb. 5-11 and this year, all dumplings will be $10 or less.

Williams Avenue Social

Lompoc Brewing and EAT Cajun Kitchen & Oyster Bar are teaming up for the first Williams Avenue Social on Feb. 24 from 6 – 9:30 p.m. The event will take over Fifth Quadrant’s parking lot (in a heated tent) with oysters, BBQ brisket, jambalaya and more paired with Lompoc beers. A special Lompoc-EAT collaboration IPA will also be released.

4th Annual Chocolate for Congo Benefit

For the fourth year in a row, 12 Portland restaurants and bakeries will feature special chocolate desserts for the month of February to benefit the Eastern Congo Initiative. One dollar from the sale of each dessert will be donated to the non-profit that works on grant-making and advocacy with/for the people of eastern Congo. Participating restaurants and bakeries include Baker & Spice, Coquine, Le Pigeon, Tusk and more.
