SteelStacks is going the distance this summer.

The venue has booked the California alt-rock band Cake, known for the 1990s hits “Short Skirt/Long Jacket” and “The Distance,” to launch the 2017 Yuengling Summer Concert Series. The outdoor series takes place throughout the summer at the Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

The group will take to the pavilion Thursday, May 25 at 8 p.m. in a return performance. Cake headlined the same series in 2015.

The band has been together for more than 20 years and released six studio albums, most recently 2011’s “Showroom of Compassion,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. The group has two platinum albums.
