The Art of the Brick

Show Show Comedy and Animation
Standup comics perform jokes accompanied by animated visual aids, to hilarious effect. Think of it as cartoons performed live.

NW Black Comedy Festival
The first of what aims to be an annual showcase of Northwest comics who also happen to be black packs the laughs from about 30 talents into two nights.

Spring Home & Garden Show

Portland Mardi Gras Ball
Make your Mardi Gras especially merry with help from the Mysti Krewe of Nimbus, Portland’s resident band of former Louisianans who know how to party. Expect a speakeasy vibe with enough outlandish costumes to rival Wizard World. Catch the Krewe’s Mississippi Avenue Mardi Gras Parade as well on the real Fat Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Hagg Lake Mud Run
Ultrarunners flock to Hagg Lake for this scenic race around the lake’s muddy trails. If you’re super hardcore, opt for the 25K or 50K (or both). If you’re not, you can still have a fun time watching. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17.
