The Metro Metro festival has indeed had to deal with a lack of security on its site, recognized the organizer of the event, Olivier Primeau, following the overflows that occurred on the site.

“I don’t want to hide behind political answers. We had a security problem,” admitted the businessman owner of the Pointe-Calumet Beachclub in an interview with Sophie Durocher on QUB Radio on Tuesday.
“I don’t think there was a shortage of security guards. I think more that we did not expect the overflows. We have a lot to work on for next year. […] We already have a meeting with security. Everyone accepts their wrongs,” he continued.
During the weekend, crowd movements caused by festival-goers who wanted to attend shows without having paid their entrance fee were relayed on social networks, in videos where security agents struggle to take control. People even climbed the Olympic Stadium in order to enter the festival site.
“People, it had been years since they had come out, and above all, for many, it was their first festival. And the esplanade is not an easy site to manage, with many entry points,” said Olivier Primeau.
The organizer, however, noted that in his opinion, all in all, his festival went well, with only a handful of noise complaints, despite the location of the esplanade in the middle of a residential area.
