Pope Francis goes out of his speech and said he was very distressed by the conversion of the hagia Sophia in Istanbul

pope Francis said he is “very distraught” Sunday, by the conversion of a decision by Turkey of the former basilica of hagia Sophia into a mosque, after the prayer of the Angelus.

“My thoughts go to Istanbul, I think of the hagia Sophia. I am very grieved,” said briefly the pope is argentine, out of the planned speech.
