Jaime Malet, president of the United States Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmChamSpain) considers that Spain enjoys a “strategic position” on the world map, and therefore, it must establish itself as one of the main destinations for European investment and American in Europe, especially in key sectors such as semiconductors, data centers, artificial intelligence, green energy (especially hydrogen and derivatives and the electrification of vehicles), biomedicine, cybersecurity, etc.

Likewise, he believes that Spanish companies have to gain more dimension and capacity in the United States. This was stated by Malet at the inauguration of the conference “Global Trends 2023: Energy, technology and friendshoring in times of global turbulences”, organized in collaboration with Europa Press, in which more than 30 senior leaders and top executives of international companies participate, that is celebrated today in Madrid.

Likewise, Malet has pointed out “that we are living a moment of profound transformation and change, with challenges that affect all companies and sectors. The war in Europe, the technological boom, the incursion of artificial intelligence and environmental challenges are accelerating processes and changing the rules of the game. AmChamSpain is at the forefront of all these challenges, contributing to increasing opportunities and growing by increasing the productive fabric in our country”, he pointed out.

“The fundamental objective of our institution is to collaborate in improving the competitiveness, productivity and internationalization of Spain, stimulate investment and trade between the US and Spain and promote technology transfer”, he recalled.

Malet also affirms that “the world is on the way to being divided into two blocks. Spain must be in the block of countries that defend values ​​such as democracy, the rule of law and the freedom of citizens. Europe has to align itself with the US I have always defended the frustrated free trade and investment agreement between Europe and the United States”, has affected.
