The Lake County Government Center in Crown Point was evacuated Tuesday afternoon following a threatening phone call, officials said.
Lake County Sheriff John Buncich ordered the public to evacuate the northwest Indiana government complex after a threatening call in to the Lake County Prosecutor’s about noon, a sheriff’s department spokesman said in a press release.
The release said the evacuation was taken as a precautionary measure. Police were searching the buildings and grounds for any threat, the release said.
