Sunday will be mild but breezy, with temperatures about 10 degrees warmer than Saturday, but a storm is on the way this week.

The day is expected to be cloudy but with only a slight chance for showers in northern New Jersey, the National Weather Service said.

Southwest winds will blow 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon, with gusts around 20 mph. Temperatures should reach the 40s in most of the state, though the wind chill is making it feel like temperatures are below freezing Sunday morning. The wind chill factor is as low as 19 in Trenton Sunday morning.

Ignore the groundhogs: The real winter forecast

A cold front is expected to cross the state Sunday night but will bring little if any precipitation, the weather service said. Low temperatures will drop into the 20s.

Cloud will linger overnight, but should clear by dawn. Monday should be another mild day, with temperatures in the upper 30s and 40s.

It won’t last. A major storm will drench the East Coast with rain, ice, snow and strong winds during the week, AccuWeather reported. As of Sunday, the storm is expected to bring mostly rain and thunder to New Jersey.
