The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled a brand of patio chair sold only at Home Depot for a defect that causes the base of the chair to break.
Casual Living Worldwide has received more than 600 reports of the swivel patio chairs breaking during regular use, resulting in falls and injuries.
The recall covers 2 million chairs sold at Home Depot stores between January 2007 and February 2016 in the United States alone.
The affected brands are Hampton Bay Anselmo, Calabria, and Dana Point chairs as well as Martha Stewart Living branded Cardona, Grand Bank Vdcasino and Wellington swivel patio chairs. The chairs are made of aluminum and steel with a round swivel base and armrests. The chairs were sold as a pair and as part of a seven-piece patio set with tables.
